Our paediatric service looks after children from birth through adolescence. The NICU cares for premature and unwell newborns, and the outpatient clinic sees children for illness, vaccination and growth checks.

Consultation
Examination with a parent present, and clear advice on care at home.

Common questions
When is a child’s fever an emergency?
Come in immediately for any fever in a baby under three months, a fit, fast or difficult breathing, drowsiness, a rash that does not fade on pressing, or signs of dehydration.
Why might a newborn need the NICU?
Common reasons include prematurity, low birth weight, breathing difficulty, jaundice needing treatment, or infection.
Can I stay with my child?
Parents are encouraged to stay involved; ward staff will explain visiting arrangements.
